From Past Lives to Landing Page Headlines
I want you to get a real sense of who I am, beyond the work. My passions, quirks, and creative obsessions all contribute to my approach to content. After all, we’re all spiritual beings having a human experience, right?
In this space, you’ll learn a bit about what I did before diving into copywriting, how I’ve shaped my journey, and a few fun facts that make me... well, me. Spoiler: it involves a lot of curiosity, creativity, and maybe one too many vintage collectibles.
From Retail Floors to Digital Doors:
My Unconventional (but Fierce) Path to Copywriting
Before I discovered my passion for UX content and copywriting, I took the scenic route—gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of industries. I’ve worked at places like Victoria’s Secret, Lacoste, NY & Company, Charlotte Russe, Extra Space Storage, and even more niche gems like Condoms to Go and Sara’s Secret. I’ve brewed coffee, balanced bank ledgers at Texas Capital Bank, and led teams through the chaos of retail hell.
Throughout it all, I naturally gravitated toward leadership roles. Whether managing a team or streamlining a chaotic shift, I developed strong communication, organization, and people skills—skills that now shape the way I write for users and clients.
My journey hasn’t always followed a straight line. Unfortunately, I was forced to drop out of high school early to start working and support myself. But I never lost sight of my ambition. At 30, I earned my high school diploma, graduated with honors in medical assisting, and began a new chapter in healthcare. That path eventually led me to wealth management… and then, unexpectedly but perfectly, to copywriting. Once I realized how powerful words could be in shaping digital experiences, I was all in.
And because I’m always chasing creative freedom, I’m currently building my own online business selling vintage, retro treasures, and oddities—a passion project that combines my love for the past with my eye for design and storytelling.
Every chapter of my life has taught me something new—and now I use those lessons to craft thoughtful, user-centered content with empathy, clarity, and a touch of spunk.
Curiosities, Confessions & Copywriter Quirks
A few (possibly useless, definitely interesting) facts about yours truly.
What I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up
Believe it or not, I once dreamed of becoming a mortician. Yep—you read that right. I even interned at a funeral home during my senior year of high school. People thought it was weird, but I saw it differently: funerals are for the living, and I’ve always been drawn to helping people navigate difficult moments. That same compassion fuels my work today, just with a little less embalming fluid.
Slightly Chaotic Obsessions
I run on iced espresso and ambition. I’m a proud plant mom with over 500 houseplants and counting (I swear they multiply when I’m not looking). When I’m not nurturing my indoor jungle, I’m scouring antique shops and estate sales for mid-century decor, oddities, and vintage treasures—everything from swag lamps and salt-and-pepper shakers to gothic mirrors and velvet art.
I’m also in the process of launching an online shop that blends these passions—curated vintage, retro, and eccentric home décor. And because giving back matters to me, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a Dallas-based nonprofit that supports survivors of human trafficking.
DIY Magic & Morbid Craftiness
When I’m not writing or sourcing vintage gems, I’m probably hot-gluing something weird together. I make handmade terrariums, wreaths, and one-of-a-kind décor pieces featuring taxidermy, skulls, dry specimens, and foraged curiosities. My workspace looks like a cross between a greenhouse and a cabinet of wonders—and yes, my Zoom background gets compliments all the time.
What I Do for Fun
History nerd alert: I’m deep into ancestry research and have traced my roots to early American settlers, three accused Salem witches, and—unfortunately—King Henry VIII. I can’t change who I’m related to, but I can learn from it.
I’m also a full-on emo elder and proud '90s baby, so don’t be surprised if you catch me at a show. I’ve seen everyone from Senses Fail and Bayside to Alanis Morissette and Judas Priest. Whether it’s hardcore, grunge, or alternative—I’m there, in the crowd, screaming every word.
Life in the Dirt(and I Love It)
(My way of talking dirty)
Lately, I’ve fallen in love with gardening. I’ve grown tomatoes, squash, okra, cucumbers, peppers, and more—all from tiny seedlings. Watching something grow from nothing is kind of my thing, whether it's a plant, a paragraph, or a new business.
I also grew from nothing, and here we are. Thriving.
